| Position Purpose: |
Manager for the Engineering Computer Systems team within the Engineering department.

| Essential Functions and Basic Duties: |
- Responsible for the Engineering software applications, hardware, maintenance and technical direction related to the enterprise's engineering systems.
- Mentors Engineering Systems personnel in their day-to-day activities and is responsible for the group's overall performance management.
- Responsible for the Engineering Systems software & hardware budget, project planning, resource allocation, capacity planning, and performance metrics.
- Provide leadership for the Engineering Systems staff to accomplish departmental objectives.
- Liaison between the Engineering community and Corporate IT.
- Manage and respond to Engineering Systems Help Desk requests.
- Support operations to ensure that procedures are being followed related to data backup, disaster recovery planning and testing, and computer security practices.
- Responsible for budgetary planning and tracking of all Engineering Systems expenditures including software, hardware, maintenance, leases and projects.
- Participate in policy planning and leading the team to meet these objectives.
- Manage Engineering Systems vendor relationships to ensure that all critical software and hardware components are covered by adequate maintenance contracts.
- Participate in the selection, acquisition and implementation of any new Engineeering hardware and software applications.
- Develop technology 'roadmaps' pertaining to the Engineering applications.
- Provide support with data translations and transfers to Customers and vendors.
- Develop solutions using standard and/or custom software applictions to support and improve Engineering processes and procedures.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- POST-SECONDARY DEGREE IN ENGINEERING OR COMPUTER SCIENCE.
- A MINIMUM OF 8-10 YEARS OF ENGINEERING SYSTEMS EXPERIENCE.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- EXPERIENCE IN DEVELOPING ENGINEERING SOLUTIONS APPROPRIATE TO BUSINESS REQUIREMENTS.
- EXPERIENCE IN LEADING GEOGRAPHICALLY-DISPERSED TEAMS.
- WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF ENGINEERING APPLICATION SOFTWARE SUCH AS NX, TEAMCENTER, SOLID EDGE, AUTOCAD, ET AL.
- PARTICIPATION IN LARGE SCALE ENGINEERING SOFTWARE/HARDWARE IMPLEMENTATIONS.
- MUST ALSO HAVE THE ABILITY TO DEAL WITH UNCERTAINTY AND COMPLEX CUSTOMER REQUIREMENTS.
- MUST HAVE A STRONG, DEMONSTRATED COMMITMENT TO CUSTOMER SERVICE AND BE COMMITTED TO PRO-ACTIVE REVIEW OF PROCESSES AND PROCEDURES TO CONTINUALLY ENHANCE SERVICE QUALITY, SERVICE DELIVERY AND SUPPORT.
- EXCELLENT INTERPERSONAL AND ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS WITH ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY WITH BOTH TECHNICAL AND NON-TECHNICAL CUSTOMERS.
- STRONG ORGANIZATIONAL, PRESENTATION, AND WRITING SKILLS; AND RESOURCE PLANNING AND FINANCIAL BUDGETING SKILLS ARE ESSENTIAL.
- ON-CALL PERIODICALLY 24 HOURS/DAY, 7 DAYS/WEEK - TO SUPPORT PRODUCTION SYSTEMS.
- MAY BE ASKED OCCASIONALLY TO WORK OUTSIDE OF NORMAL WORKING HOURS (E.G. WEEK NIGHTS AND/OR WEEKENDS) TO PERFORM MAINTENANCE AND HARDWARE/SOFTWARE UPGRADES.
